With the Olympics coming up soon, Mr Hunt and his classroom took to celebrating this, hosting their very own Olympics with a twist – using their Bee-Bots. If you’re looking for Olympics ideas for your school, then read on.

Bee-Bot Country Jackets
If you’re looking for a fun and educational activity to engage your students, why not try making Bee-Bot Olympic Jackets? This hands-on project not only adds a creative twist to your lessons but also ties in perfectly with the Olympics theme. Here’s a simple guide to get started.
First, download and print the Bee-Bot jackets designed for classroom use. You can find these printable templates here. After printing, carefully cut out the jackets and glue them together. It’s important to check the fit by placing the jacket on top of the Bee-Bot to ensure it aligns well and stays in place during play.
To integrate an Olympics focus, assign each child a different country. Have them research their assigned country’s flag and use it as inspiration for decorating their Bee-Bot jacket. Encourage the students to replicate their country’s flag using the same colours and patterns.
This not only makes the activity more engaging but also helps reinforce their understanding of world geography and international symbols. As they design and decorate, they’ll be learning about different cultures and the significance of flags in a fun and interactive way.
Bee-Bot Olympic Games
Bring some Olympic excitement into your classroom with the Bee-Bot Olympic Games! Here’s how Mr. Hunt and his students turned their school halls into a buzzing race track.
To start, the children gathered in the hall, each holding their country’s flag and singing national anthems. Then it was time for the main event—a 100-meter sprint, which was actually about 5 meters long. Each student placed their Bee-Bot, dressed in its newly designed country jacket, at the starting line.
With a signal to go, the Bee-Bots raced to the finish line. The student whose Bee-Bot crossed first earned a golden Bee-Bot trophy. This simple yet engaging activity combined creativity with a bit of friendly competition, making it a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.
Get Creative
The children then took the Olympics games into their own hands, coming up with a variety of unique events. One of the highlights was a reimagined 400-meter race. The children designed a course with turns, using cones and tape to mark out the path.
They then used their Bee-Bots to navigate the course, making the right turns at the right times. It was a fun mix of creativity, coding, and problem-solving, showing just how inventive children can be when given the chance. Why not give it a go in your own classroom?
As Bee-Bot celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, we’re excited to continue inspiring young minds across the UK and around the world!
