James Clarke is the Design Director at Spaceoasis, responsible for their value-engineered capsule collection, Learniture. With over thirty years’ experience in the furniture industry, James has extensive knowledge of, and experience in the furnishing of learning spaces.
From early BSF projects through to some of the UK’s leading independent schools as well as international projects from America to the Far East, James’ work draws on the latest research in how great learning happens. He is currently leading the project to relocate the International School of Monaco into their new building in 2024.
James wrote RM’s white paper ‘Learning Journeys’ in 2008 and edited Teaching Times’ magazine ‘Learning Spaces’ between 2016 and 2019. He is a contributing author to the book ‘Planning Learning Spaces’ and served as a school governor, chairing their Teaching & Learning committee.
