Ben West joins our host Lee Parkinson, aka Mr. P, on Series 2 of the TTS Talking Teachers’ Podcast to discuss a range of big topics around the theme of mental health in teaching.
In 2018, at just 17, Ben lost his brother Sam to suicide, a tragedy that spurred him into action. Ben now campaigns for mental health awareness and suicide prevention, focusing on schools.
His petition to include mental health first aid in teacher training garnered over 300,000 signatures and influenced government policy. In 2022, he released “This Book Could Save Your Life,” and has written for The Sunday Times Magazine and The Times.
Ben has also partnered with a number of brands delivering powerful keynotes encouraging vulnerability and openness, and works intimately with leaders by advising and guiding them on their approach to mental health in the workplace.
